1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Down Range LLC (“Down Range,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates downrangecc.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit our website, contact us, place an order, book training or an experience, or use an available customer account.
This policy addresses our website and related customer communications. Separate notices and legal requirements may apply to in-person firearm transactions, identity or eligibility verification, training records, and other regulated activities. This policy does not replace required transaction documents or authorize a firearm purchase or transfer.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. Depending on how you interact with us, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, billing or delivery address, order details, selected courses or experiences, booking dates, participant information requested during registration, and the contents of your inquiries. For agency training inquiries, this may include your department or organization and requested training. If you use an account, we also process account credentials, profile information, and associated order or booking history.
Payment and transaction information. When you pay online, payment information is processed through Authorize.Net and the financial institutions involved in the transaction. We receive transaction details needed to process your order, confirm payment, address disputes, and issue refunds, which may include payment status, transaction identifiers, and limited payment-method details. The information requested by the payment provider is shown during checkout.
Information collected automatically. Our website, hosting and security services, and analytics tools may collect your IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, interaction events, dates and times of visits, and cookie or similar identifiers. General location may be inferred from technical information such as your IP address.
Information from others. We may receive payment confirmations from our payment provider, booking details supplied by a person registering on your behalf, and public review information displayed through third-party review services. If you provide another person’s information, do so only with appropriate permission. Please do not send Social Security numbers, complete payment-card details, firearm-license documents, or medical information through ordinary email or general inquiry forms.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries; administer bookings and courses; process orders, payments, refunds, and customer support; provide account access; send service-related confirmations and updates; maintain business and training records; understand website use and improve our services; detect spam, fraud, and security problems; and comply with applicable obligations or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
If you request promotional communications, your contact information may also be used to send the information you requested. You may ask us to stop promotional communications using the contact details below or any unsubscribe option provided in the message. Service messages about an existing order, booking, or account may still be necessary. Providing a telephone number for an inquiry or booking does not by itself constitute consent to automated marketing texts or calls.
4. Cookies, analytics, and third-party content
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The site uses cookies and similar technologies for functions such as maintaining shopping-cart and session information, supporting login where available, and remembering preferences. Blocking these technologies may prevent portions of the website from working correctly.
We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and interactions with the website. Google receives technical and usage information through the Analytics integration and may use cookies or similar identifiers. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and review Google’s Privacy Policy. You can use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on in supported browsers.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Browser controls are generally specific to the device and browser you use and do not remove information already collected. Blocking third-party cookies alone may not prevent all analytics collection.
Our website links to services such as Google Maps and social platforms and may display third-party reviews or other embedded content. When you open those links or load third-party content, the provider may receive your IP address, device information, and activity information and may associate it with an account you have with that provider. Third parties may collect information over time and across different websites under their own privacy policies. Their privacy practices and settings are separate from ours.
5. When information is disclosed
Service providers and personnel. Information is available to authorized personnel and providers who support hosting, website administration, security, backups, email delivery, payment processing, order fulfillment, and booking administration, as needed for those functions. Our website uses WordPress, WooCommerce, Amelia booking software, and form tools to support these activities. Installing a software tool does not necessarily mean its developer receives all information stored in that tool.
Payments and bookings. We disclose information needed to process payments to Authorize.Net and relevant financial institutions. Booking or participant information may be made available to the personnel delivering or administering the service you requested.
Legal and business purposes. Information may be disclosed when required by law or valid legal process, to respond to lawful regulatory requests, to protect safety and security, to address fraud or disputes, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, subject to applicable requirements. We may also disclose information at your direction. Public reviews or other material you choose to submit for public display can be viewed by others.
6. How long information is retained
Retention depends on the information and the purpose for which it is used, including customer service, order and training administration, accounting, tax, regulatory obligations, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution. The online store currently has no fixed automatic deletion period configured for customer accounts or orders; those records may remain until manually deleted or anonymized. Deleting an account or requesting deletion does not necessarily remove records we must or are permitted to retain for other purposes.
Messages, booking records, security logs, and backup copies may have different retention periods. Copies in backups may remain until the backup is replaced or deleted. Contact us if you would like information about a particular record or wish to request deletion.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a copy, correct inaccurate information, or request deletion. Where account tools are available, you may also review or update information there. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting on a request; please do not send sensitive identification documents unless we request them through an appropriate method.
Depending on your residence and whether a particular law applies to our business, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of information, or to opt out of certain processing, including targeted advertising or sale or sharing as defined by law. Where applicable, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We will handle requests, verification, exceptions, and any available appeal rights as required by applicable law. If you wish to appeal a response, reply to our response or contact us with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights protected by applicable law.
To submit a request, email matt@downrangecc.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, call 815-888-7916, or write to the address below. Explain your request and provide enough information for us to locate the relevant records. Requests may be limited by legal retention requirements, the rights of others, and other applicable exceptions.
8. Security and processing location
We use website security tools and access controls to help protect information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Use a unique password for any account and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Down Range is based in the United States, and our services are directed to customers in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.
9. Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through the website. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. A parent or guardian should contact us directly regarding any training inquiries involving a minor.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the website, our practices, or applicable requirements. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying material changes.
